"Why did the Ancient Mayan Calendar stop on 21st December, 2012 AD?"

The ancient Mayans predicted that the World will cease to exist at 11:11 GMT on 21st December 2012. John Freud, an American documentary film-maker based in Paris, has been dreaming of this dark future alone. Knowing what is yet to happen to all of mankind, he is determined to reveal the truths of things to the World - but how?
And as fate has it, John has Ming, his dear wife who is also a scientist and psychologist. With Ming's invention, the "Dream-Cap Machine", John is able to record his prophetic visions about 2012, creating the controversial and incendiary documentary "2012" - a cinematic masterpiece that John is able to share with humankind, yet never to realize the danger it is going to bring upon him and his loved ones.
The time is May 2012, the place is Cannes in France and the event is the Cannes Film Festival. "2012" has won the Prix de Palm D'Or, and the Freuds are walking up the red carpet to receive this highest honor. But dramatically, he was shot on the spot, with a bullet paralyzing him from the waist down. Without doubt, darker forces are against these visions to be revealed...
In hope of healing her injured husband, Ming decides to take John to seek the cure from Master Li, an expert in Chinese medicine and martial arts based in Shanghai. Thus begins a deadly journey of traveling in disguise across unknown territories, constantly attacked by assassins and aliens from the fourth dimension. During this arduous odyssey, Ming gradually recalls the dreams of her closest patients in Paris - Electra, John's younger sister; the mysterious twins - Agent Oscar and Agent Oswald; and a gifted African-American child who claims to be the Antichrist. It is unthinkable that they are somehow related to one another; yet Ming begins to see their connections...
When it becomes known that John cannot be fully healed by Master Li in Shanghai, the Freuds must travel to the Himalayas to seek further help from an extraordinary guru when Ming suddenly falls ill and realizes she is pregnant with John's child - a child destined to have an amazing future as the end is only a new beginning...
